For the first time, Girls Day Out, hosted by Tompkins Cortland Community College, will shift its focus to girls in grades 6-9. This unique day of activities will be held on March 4, 2023, just days before International Women’s Day. This year, the theme of International Women’s Day is #EmbraceEquity, and we plan to do just that. We will engage and empower ALL girls in our community by equipping them with the tools to go out into the world as we see them: equal, powerful, and unstoppable.

The day’s events will include the following:

  • An informative and empowering panel and Q&A with inspiring women who are experts in career preparation, physical and mental health, and self-confidence.
  • An interactive career fair with accomplished women from the Cortland community and surrounding areas.
  • Meditation with Usui Reiki Master, Rhonda Giglio.
  • A ukulele lesson with board-certified music therapist, Melissa Simmons.
  • A collaborative art project with local artist Molly Reagan AKA Good Neighbor Art.
  • An engaging science project with TC3 students.
  • An end-of-day pool party!

Lunch and a snack will be provided, along with a 2023 Girls Day Out t-shirt!

When: March 4, 2023, from 8:45 am -3:45 pm.

Where: Tompkins Cortland Community College (Park in Lot #4)
