Each year around the holiday season, Bridges for Kids, a YWCA Cortland Mentoring Program service, helps families provide holiday gifts to children in the Cortland community. This year, the program aims to provide holiday magic for nearly 270 children. But some children may not receive any presents if no one picks their tags from the Giving Tree in the YWCA Cortland lobby.

There are two ways the community can help make the holidays merry and bright for local children.

People can stop by the YWCA to pick a child’s tag off the Giving Tree and shop for them. The tags will include some of their interests, their ages, clothing sizes, and if they have a high need for clothing, winter gear, or food.

Those participating should drop off unwrapped gifts at the YWCA by December 15, 2023.

Can’t shop and drop off the gifts? Make a monetary donation to help us purchase gifts and support the mentoring program.
