Tutor (Temporary)

Job Description:

The temporary tutor position will follow the guidelines set in the YWCA Cortland LEAPs grant project. Hours will be determined by individual schedules, school calendar and need. Tutors will be professional, operate within licensed school age program guidelines, and enthusiastic to provide academic support in Math and Reading for students in grades 3 through 6. The ideal candidate will help students strengthen their foundational skills, build confidence, and foster a love for learning.

Qualifications: 

  • Strong proficiency in elementary-level Math and English.
  • Experience working with children, preferably in a tutoring, teaching, or educational setting. 
  • Patience, adaptability, and the ability to create a supportive learning environment. 
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills. 
  • Bachelor’s degree or current enrollment in a related field (education, child development, child psychology or other related field) preferred
