There are several ways YOU can support the Aid to Victims of Violence program throughout the month!<\/strong><\/em><\/h3>\n

\nThis\u00a0is the\u00a0month in which we\u00a0would have held the Chefs Take a Stand: Men Against Domestic Violence event to raise funds for our\u00a0AVV program. Due to the coronavirus pandemic, we’ve had to cancel this popular event in 2020.<\/p>\n

But,\u00a0YOU can help stop domestic violence by supporting the AVV program with a gift today<\/a>!\u00a0Or by participating in any of the special activities listed below.<\/p>\n

Tickets are $1 each or an arm’s length for $5. With 19 baskets to bid on, there’s something for everyone!<\/em><\/strong><\/span><\/h3>\n

\nIn place of the Chefs Take a Stand event, we’ll hold an online crowdfunding campaign during\u00a0YWCA USA’s Week Without Violence<\/a>, October 18 \u2013 24, to raise funds to support the Aid to Victims of Violence program.\u00a0Last year the Chefs Take a Stand event raised nearly $10K, and we’d love to top that this year.<\/p>\n

\nGo Purple Day (Domestic Violence Awareness Day)\u00a0is when people wear purple to spark conversations and raise awareness about domestic violence. On Go Purple Day, we will hold a special match promotion with a “Hot Pot” of funds donated by a few\u00a0of the\u00a0“Chefs” that competed\u00a0in last year’s event<\/a>. Stay tuned for details on how to double your impact.<\/p>\n

\nWhen you go to the\u00a0outdoor movies at Greek Peak<\/a> on these two dates, they will support our Aid to Victims of Violence Program by donating $5\/car. Take the kids on Thursday to see Goosebumps 2: Haunted Halloween and then return on Friday for the original Poltergeist! The gates open at 7:15 p.m. and the movie starts at 8:00 p.m.<\/p>\n
