There are several ways YOU can support the Aid to Victims of Violence (AVV) program throughout the month!<\/strong><\/em><\/h3>\n

\"\"<\/a>Take a stand\u00a0in October.<\/strong>
\nOctober is the month in which we would have held the Chefs Take a Stand: Men Against Domestic Violence event to raise funds for our AVV program. Due to the coronavirus pandemic, we’ve had to cancel this popular event again in 2021.<\/p>\n

But,\u00a0YOU can help stop domestic violence by supporting the AVV program with a gift today<\/a>!\u00a0Or by participating in any of the special activities listed below.<\/p>\n

Raffle Baskets<\/strong><\/h1>\n

Tickets are $1 each or 8 for $5. With 20 baskets\/items to bid on, there’s something for everyone!<\/em><\/strong><\/span><\/h3>\n

\nThe annual Raffle Basket fundraiser for the Aid to Victims of Violence Program has begun. Get your tickets at the front desk now through the end of the month. We will draw winners on Monday, November 1; you need not be present to win.<\/p>\n

There are 20 baskets\/items to bid on this year, including Chocolate, Coffee, and Wine Lovers Baskets (oh my!), Entertaining Basket, Trader Joes Goodies Basket, Wines <\/span>of the World Baskets, a Lotto Tree, a handmade wooden mission style chair, and more<\/span>! Week Without Violence<\/strong><\/h1>\n

An online fundraising campaign to be held in place of Chefs Take a Stand.<\/em><\/strong><\/span><\/h3>\n

\nIn place of the Chefs Take a Stand event, we’ll hold an online crowdfunding campaign during\u00a0YWCA USA’s Week Without Violence<\/a>, October 18 \u2013 23, to raise funds to support the Aid to Victims of Violence program. Last year’s online fundraising efforts raised just over $10K, and we’d love to top that this year.<\/p>\n

\nGo Purple Day (Domestic Violence Awareness Day) is when people wear purple to spark conversations and raise awareness about domestic violence. On Go Purple Day, we will hold a special match promotion with a “Hot Pot” of funds donated by a few of the “Chefs” that competed in the 2018 and 2019 events. Stay tuned for details on how to double your impact. You can also contribute to the “Hot Pot”<\/a> to make even more of a difference.<\/p>\n
