Holiday Linden Tree “Cookie” Ornaments on Sale 11/27

Proceeds benefit the Child Care program and support enrichment activities

For the past 30+ years, dozens of members and supporters have baked trayfuls of delicious homemade cookies that volunteers then packaged into festively wrapped plates for the Child Care program to sell as a fundraiser.

Due to COVID-19, this year we, unfortunately, again will be unable to hold the Cookie Extravaganza for the health and safety of our community.

But, YOU can still make a difference by purchasing one or more holiday Linden tree “cookie” ornaments!

The “cookie” ornaments are made from the branches of the Linden tree that stood in front of YWCA Cortland for around 100 years. The Linden tree symbolizes love, friendship, peace, and justice.

Each ornament is $25 and will be available for purchase online beginning Small Business Saturday, November 27. In-person sales will begin at the YWCA front desk on Monday, November 29. Ornaments are available until December 22, or while supplies last.

Click this link to purchase your ornament(s) online.

We will set aside the ornament(s) you purchased online at the YWCA front desk for you to pick up during regular business hours. If you have children enrolled in the Here We Grow daycare center or in one of the Before & After School programs and would like to pick up your ornament(s) at one of those sites, please email Amanda Caridi to coordinate.

This holiday fundraiser benefits YWCA Cortland’s Child Care program. Proceeds will support purchasing supplies and creating activities that enrich the minds of the youngsters enrolled in our Child Care services.
