Fall 2023 Health & Fitness Programming: Swim, Gymnastics & Social Seniors
Looking for ways to achieve your fitness goals, get your kiddos movin’, or just have fun with family out of the house? Look no further than YWCA Cortland Health and Fitness programming! We have various health and fitness programs designed for all ages and skill levels, starting back up again in the Fall.

For all ages
Open Swim: Enjoy quality family time or a relaxing lap swim in our warm water pool! The pool is open on Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday from 7:00 to 8:00 pm, Friday from 3:00 to 7:00 pm, and Saturday from 11:00 am to 12:00 pm. (included in Lap and Leisure Membership)
Swim Lessons: Is it time for your child to build those swimming skills? Choose from a variety of options including Waterbabies, Preschool with Parent, Preschool Swim, and Red Cross Swim Lessons Levels 1-4. Classes run from September 11 to October 21, with registration between August 28 and September 15.
Private Swim Lessons: For personalized instruction, opt for our Private Swim Lessons. Offered in half-hour sessions that span six weeks, available on Monday, Wednesday, and Saturday. Classes run from September 11 to October 21, with registration starting on August 28.
Gymnastics: Flexibility, strength, and fun combine in our Gymnastics classes! Choose from Monday, Tuesday, and Saturday classes. Session I runs from September 18 to October 24 with registration between September 5-18, and Session II runs from November 4, with registration between October 16 -November 4.
*NEW* Adult Swim: Swim lessons aren’t just for kids! Embrace wellness and growth with our Adult Swim sessions. Whether a novice or an experienced swimmer, you’ll improve your strokes and confidence in the water. Join us on Fridays from 10:30 to 11:30 am, for a six-week session from September 15 to October 20. Registration is Monday, August 28-September 15.
Open Pickleball: Experience the pickleball craze! Experienced pickleball players can join Monday and Friday, 9:00–11:00 am, Wednesday, 2:00–4:00 pm, and 4:00–6:00 pm. Beginner pickleball players are encouraged to join on Tuesday, 5:00–7:00 pm.
Players must reserve their space ahead of time each week. Email Meryl Fish at firstname.lastname@example.org to get access to weekly sign-ups.
Social Seniors: We’re back to regularly scheduled programming! Mark your calendars for a discussion about Equine Therapy with Executive Director Kelly Tobin on September 13. Lunch will be provided and will begin at noon; the discussion will follow at 12:30 pm. Join our Social Seniors gathering every Wednesday from 12:00 to 2:00 pm. Enjoy games, socializing, and intriguing discussions.
Personal Safety and Self-Defense: In October, gear up to learn the 4 Awarenesses of self-protection in our Personal Safety and Self-Defense program, available for ages 13 and above.
