Mentoring Program Holiday Fundraising
Make the Holidays Merry and Bright!
Donate to the Mentoring program to support Thanksgiving meals and holiday gifts.
In a normal year, Bridges for Kids, a service of our Mentoring program, feeds over 70 families a Thanksgiving meal at our annual Harvest Dinner and helps families provide holiday gifts to over 150 children.
Covid-19 presents new struggles this year. We usually hold a food drive to collect items for the Harvest Dinner and rely on community supporters to purchase holiday gifts and drop them off at the YWCA. But it is not possible to do that this year because we are following CDC and New York State safety guidelines and regulations.
But YOU can help make the holidays merry and bright for local families experiencing trying times by making a donation to the YWCA Mentoring program. With funds raised, we will make purchases on Amazon and/or provide gift cards to families. This holiday season is going to be difficult for everyone, but even more so for struggling families who could use the joy that the holidays can bring.
You can also purchase gifts on our Bridges for Kids Holiday Assistance Amazon wish list. Make sure you use AmazonSmile and Amazon will donate a portion of the proceeds to YWCA Cortland at no extra cost to you. Click to find out more about AmazonSmile.
Please make your gift by December 13.
