The Zonta Club of Cortland is pleased to announce three education award opportunities for students; The Jean M. Coon Award for Community Service, and the Ruth Schaub Mature Woman and High School Senior awards.  Tyhesupport two high school students and one mature woman annually who are looking to further their education. The 2022 Application period is open through Monday, March 21, 2022. 

Jean M. Coon Humanitarian Award: The Jean M. Coon Humanitarian Award recognizes the outstanding community service activities of a high school junior or senior in Cortland area schools. The Zonta Club of Cortland will award a certificate of achievement. The winning application will be submitted to the Zonta District Level competition.

Ruth Schaub High School Senior Award: The Ruth Schaub High School Senior Award recognizes a high school senior in the Cortland area accepted to a college or a professional education program. The award is based on financial need, plans for continued education, community service, leadership qualities, and academic achievement.

Ruth Schaub Mature Women Award: The Ruth Schaub Mature Woman Award will be awarded to a Cortland area resident, 21 years or older, studying either full or part-time. Applicants must be continuing their education in an accredited degree-granting or certificate training.

Awardees will be invited as guests at the Zonta’s Woman of Achievement luncheon to be held on May 22, 2022, at Tinelli’s Hathaway House.
