In honor of Martin Luther King Day, YWCA Cortland has collaborated with F.S. Barry Primary School and the YWCA School Age program, to spread the importance of Dr. King’s message of justice, freedom, equality, and love.

The students, grades K-6, learned about Marting Luther King’s inspiring life and how he fought for equal rights for black Americans during the Civil Rights Movement. With everything they learned, they got their crayons and markers out and colored in portraits of MLK and honored his famous “I have a dream” speech by sharing their dream.

Their inspired dreams and beautiful drawings will be on display at three local Cortland grocery stores; Price Chopper, P&C, and Tops from Monday, January 17 until Sunday, January 23.

Be sure to check them out on your grocery run!
