Parker School Public Referendum Ballots Due by June 9
The postponed Public Referendum on the sale of Parker Elementary School by the Cortland City School District to the City of Cortland will take place on June 9. YWCA Cortland encourages everyone to vote!
All ballots must be received at the district office by June 9 at 5 p.m. This means you must mail your ballot in early so it is delivered to the office in time to meet this deadline.
Eligible voters in the school district should have already received applications to vote by absentee ballot. If you did not receive one, please contact the Cortland City School District at 607-758-4100.
If the referendum passes, the Cortland Common Council will then hold a vote to decide if it will purchase the school for $91. The plan if this vote passes is for YWCA Cortland and CAPCO (Cortland County Community Action Program, Inc.) to use the facility for an early childhood education center in keeping with the wishes of the neighborhood.
