We are working on a reopen strategy that meets New York State gym and fitness center guidelines.

Until we reopen, check out our two outdoor fitness classes!

YWCA Cortland’s leadership has been closely following reopen guidelines from Governor Cuomo’s New York Forward Plan as the State has released them. We are happy to announce that the Governor has given the green light for gyms and fitness centers to reopen beginning August 24.

While we have not yet set a reopen date, we are currently working to develop a safe reopen strategy that follows New York State’s extensive guidelines.

We will post updates on our website and social media pages.

Please be patient as we work towards reopening our Health & Fitness Program and facility soon.

YWCA Cortland wants to keep our members safe and healthy, and we are thinking of creative ways to start bringing back programming slowly.

Until we can officially open the program and the facility, YWCA will continue to offer the following two outdoor classes in the parking lot at 14 Clayton Ave.

Mon & Wed, 9-10 a.m., Boomer Nation
Tue & Thu, 9-10 a.m., Cardio Pump Conditioning

The classes are free for YWCA Cortland members, but donations are appreciated. We are limiting space to 20 participants to maintain social distancing. To reserve your spot, please call the YWCA at 607-753-9651. We will require a minimum of 3 students per class. All reservations must be made by 8:00 a.m. on the day of class. All classes are subject to cancellation due to weather conditions.

Please bring a mat, weights, water, and face covering. We will have a limited amount of equipment available for your use. While you are allowed to exercise without a face covering, participants will be required to wear a mask if social distancing cannot be maintained while walking to and from the workout space.
