YWCA Cortland operates safe, recreational before- and after-school care for children ages 5-12 at five sites during the school year. Children can choose from a variety of activities to partake in. All sites provide an afternoon snack, use of a large outdoor play area, personal safety programming, gym time (depending on school and time of year), various games, art materials, time for reading or homework, and just plain fun!

We’re so excited to get started with our 2025-2026 School-Age program enrollment! 

July 14, 2025: Full-time care enrollment opens*

Jul 21, 2025: Part-time care enrollment opens**

To enroll, please pick up a packet from the YWCA and return that completed packet along with payment for your Annual YWCA Membership fee, registration fee, and first week’s tuition. Spots are reserved based on when you submit your completed packet with payment, not when you pick up the packet. We accept daycare subsidy!

Due to limited enrollment at each site based on license capacity, we recommend enrolling as soon as possible to ensure a spot for your child. If capacity has been reached, a waitlist for that site will be created. A minimum enrollment of ten children is required to run a program.

*What is considered full-time care?

  • After-school care Monday-Friday
  • Before and after-school care Monday-Friday

**What is considered part-time care?

  • Before-school care only
  • 2 or 3-day care for before and after-school care
  • Full-day/full-week only care

  • Randall
    • Before-school care: From 6:45 am until school opening
    • After-school care: From the end of the day until 5:30 pm
    • *All families enrolled in after-school programming at this site will receive free care thanks to the NYS LEAPS Grant. (See details, requirements, and benefits here)
  • Smith
    • Before-school care: From 6:45 am until school opening
    • After-school care: From the end of the day until 5:30 pm

  • Homer Elementary
    • Before-school care: From 6:45 am until school opening
    • After-school care: From the end of the day until 5:30 pm
  • Homer Intermediate
    • Before-school care: From 6:45 am until school opening
    • After-school care: From the end of the day until 5:30 pm

Access to Full-day and Full-Week Care at the YWCA

If enrolled in the School Age Program, you will have access to register for full-day & full-week care at YWCA Cortland, operational during all school holidays except the December Holiday Recess. Please note that we DO NOT offer care on snow days!

Full-day/ full-week care is held at the YWCA on 14 Clayton Ave. from 6:30 am to 5:30 pm. Children will be provided with a morning snack, lunch, and an afternoon snack, but lunches/snacks can also be brought from home. We kindly ask that you do not send food containing peanuts. 

Due to limited space, pre-registration and pre-payment are required for all families!
