4-Week Kingian Nonviolence Conflict Reconciliation Workshop
Join Dr. Tracy Hudson at the YWCA on Wednesdays in February to embrace nonviolent conflict reconciliation! This four-week workshop teaches the Six Principles of Kingian Nonviolence and basic concepts, strategies, and tools of conflict reconciliation. The seminar includes reading Dr. King’s writing, viewing and discussing documentary film footage from the Civil Rights Movement, and participating in interactive exercises and role-playing. The curriculum is enhanced through the addition of historical and contemporary music. The teaching can be applied to a broad spectrum of individual, group, institutional, and systemic conflicts. Material is tailored for adults and youth.
Dr. Hudson, Assistant Professor and Diversity Faculty Fellow in the Physical Education Department at SUNY Cortland, is a certified instructor of Kingian Nonviolence Conflict Reconciliation, having trained at the Selma Center for Nonviolence, Truth, and Reconciliation.

Can’t make it to this training? The next one is tentatively set to take place over a weekend in March on Friday late afternoon/early evening for 3.5 hours, Saturday full day for 8 hours, and Sunday partial day for 5.5 hours. This is subject to change.
The Kingian Nonviolence Conflict Reconciliation (CORE) training, originally designed as a two-day format, has been adapted into a more accessible version consisting of four 3.5/4-hour sessions. This condensed training has omitted certain elements, such as selected songs and activities, to accommodate the shorter time frame. However, the CORE content and principles of Kingian Nonviolence remain intact, providing participants with a comprehensive understanding of this philosophy and its practical applications. Through interactive discussions, engaging exercises, and thoughtful exploration, participants will still receive a robust training experience that equips them with the knowledge and skills necessary to embrace nonviolence as a way of life.
